Electronic accessories company Satechi has unveiled their first foray into the HomeKit market with the Dual Smart Outlet. As we previously reported last month, the Dual Smart Outlet incorporates two power outlets that can be controlled either manually on the device itself, or via HomeKit. The Dual Smart Outlet features a compact design, allowing the additional outlets on your in-wall plug to be used, and can even be combined with another Dual Smart Outlet for additional expansion.
The Dual Smart Outlet utilizes Wi-Fi for connectivity, and does not require a hub making it simple to set up once unboxed. Satechi’s offering also includes energy monitoring capabilities for each outlet and measurements can be viewed via the Satechi Home App. The Dual Smart Outlet supports up to 15 amps and 1800 watts of output which should be enough for most small appliances, and even room air conditioning units. Of course, since the device is HomeKit enabled, Siri can be used to turn on and off connected devices, and the outlet can be included into scenes and automations.
Satechi’s Dual Smart Outlet is available now directly from Satechi’s online store, and has a retail price of $59.99. The outlet will also be available on Amazon starting June 25th, 2019, and pre-orders can be placed now via the online giant. To celebrate the launch, Satechi is offering a promotional code, DUALOUTLET, which can be used on either the Satechi store or on Amazon, and is good for 30% off, making the outlet a compelling option for those in the market for a smart plug.
