Moen, established manufacturer of household fixtures has announced that HomeKit support is now available for the company’s Moen U line of connected shower systems. First reported by iMore’s Rene Ritchie, the company’s pricey, yet powerful, line is the first indoor water based devices to become available for HomeKit, joining Amazon Alexa support which launched with the product earlier this year.
While the product category may seem a little odd, Moen’s U line will enable users to control their showers via Siri, the iOS Home App, scenes and automations. Examples of this functionality include asking Siri to turn on the shower, or have it automatically turn on at a set time everyday alongside your daily routing. Temperature can also be set remotely allowing owners to enjoy the benefits of not having to guess if the water is warm enough yet. Water pressure rates can also be adjusted according to Digital Trends, which will enable specific comfort levels for the various members of your home.
Moen’s U connected shower systems are available now and start at a whopping $1,275 for a 2-outlet digital shower controller, and can go as high as $2,355 with 4-outlet versions.
