After a brief beta test starting back in May of this year, Nanoleaf has officially launched a new update for the company’s Canvas Light Tiles to enable each to act as a HomeKit button. This new functionality, which is available today as an update through the Nanoleaf app, will give owners of its 9 tile starter kits an additional 9 “buttons” in the iOS Home app. The added buttons function just as you would expect from a HomeKit button, with quick and easy access to toggling device states, and activating scenes all through the Canvas title’s touch panel.
Nanoleaf has provided an tutorial video on how to set up the panels within their own app and the iOS Home app, which can be found below. Screenshots of the panels in HomeKit can be found in our post from earlier this year.
Nanoleaf’s Canvas Light Tiles start at $119 for a 4 tile set, and their traditional 9 tile starter kit retails for $229. Nanoleaf currently has the 9 tile starter set on sale for just $199, and can be purchased directly from the company’s website. What do you think of today’s announcement?
