Neato Robotic Vacuums Adding Siri Shortcut Capabilities This Fall

Neato Robotics is preparing to release Siri Shortcut capabilities for its line of connected vacuum cleaners this fall according to Engadget. This will mark the first known “official” instance of a robotic vacuum cleaner adding Shortcuts support, and it helps to fill the void in the space with regards to HomeKit. While Shortcuts is not full blown HomeKit integration, it will allow for convenient commands to be sent to select vacuums either via iOS, macOS, or HomePods.

Some examples of Siri commands that can be sent to the company’s vacuums include starting and stopping a cleaning cycle, zone specific cleaning, and dock/go to home according to iMore. No firm date has been given by the company for Shortcuts support, other than a vague “this fall” timeframe. The following models will support Siri Shortcuts, spanning a wide range of price points:

  • Neato D3
  • Neato D4
  • Neato D5
  • Neato D6
  • Neato D7
