A Honeywell thermostat ‘waiting for equipment’ message is a safety alert- the delay mode protects the equipment from turning On too fast. This usually happens when the system turns off and the sudden change in its temperature makes it turn on back, and the unit won’t start running until 3-5 minutes pass.

Method: 1 Using a SPDIF Cable

This method follows 10 steps, Let’s discuss every step in a detailed manner.

Step:2 Remove the protective covering from each end of your SPID cable.

Removal of protective covering from each end will allow you to safely plug the cable into your TV and your soundbar.

SPID cables are also called Toslink or fibre-optic cabales. Make sure you are connecting the right cable connection.

Step:3 Connect one end of the cable to the “OPTICAL” port on the back of your TV.

Make sure you are firmly connecting your cable because usually plastic doors cover the optical ports to resist the dust.

Step:4 Connect the other end of the cable to the soundbar.

Connect the other end of the cable to the optical port of a soundbar which is similar to the port present at the back of your TV.

Step:5 Make sure your sound bar is powered.
